Horticultural Innovation
Curriculum philosophy
It is a curriculum aiming to produce graduates equipped with the knowledge and ability to apply appropriate principles of modern science and innovative technology to effectively develop scientific and technological skills in horticulture, including ornamental plants, vegetables, fruit trees, and medicinal plants.
Including having concepts and being able to create innovations in the integrated management of horticultural produce, efficiently covering production, breeding, post-harvest management, and primary processing, through a teaching and learning process that is environmentally friendly and encompasses horticultural crop production, seed management, post-harvest management, and the processing of horticultural produce for added value.
The curriculum emphasizes equipping students with integrated knowledge spanning from production, value-added processing, to business operations, utilizing technology and innovation that combine theory with practice. It focuses on using real-world case studies as examples, alongside independent research, and instills professional conduct based on ethics, responsibility, morality, social consciousness, and dedication to the public interest and the nation, leading to the development of comprehensive horticultural innovations.
Course objectives
- To produce graduates with knowledge in plant physiology, plant genetics, and horticultural produce processing.
- To produce graduates with the ability to apply knowledge and technology in design, planning, production management, post-harvest management, and primary processing efficiently, as well as to add value to agricultural produce.
- To produce graduates who can design and/or create innovations to improve horticultural production efficiency, and apply their knowledge to pursue actual careers in order to meet the demands of the current and future labor market.
